You will also be able to ask handling questions which will be answered either on this page or directly by email.

Firstly we shall give you a golden rule. Never show yourself off or show the dog  off.  What we are looking for is a partnership between you and your dog, giving the impression of one element going around the ring.

Presentation of both the handler and the dog should be uppermost in the handlers mind.  A well groomed handler and dog is the first impression that the judge sees.  Tidiness of the lead in the handlers hand with the control of the dog being effortless.

In a handling class, the participant will be evaluated the moment they step into the ring. Enter and use the whole of the ring, it can make a huge difference in the judges mind.  Some people say that you should have your dog presented at all times, but a good handler will know when to relax their dog and when to present.  And last but not least, DONT BE LATE,  prepare well inadvance and be at the ringside atleast 15 mins before scheduled time.

Dont be nervous, it passes down the lead to the dog.  Go into the ring to enjoy with the even chance of being placed, but do not get upset if you dont; there is always another dog show with handling classes.
