Breed Standard of Siberian Huskey
General Appearance
The Siberian Husky is a medium sized dog who has quick, free, light-footed movement. The body should be well furred with a correct double coat, never long, and should be well muscled.
The proportions should reflect a balance of power, speed and endurance. Never appearing heavy or coarse, nor light and fragile.
Males should appear masculine without coarseness and females feminine without fragility.
Dogs should be within the range of 21 - 23.5ins at the wither and should weigh 20 - 25Kg
Bitches should be within the range 18 - 22ins at the wither and should weigh 16 - 20Kg
Temperament
Siberian husky's are highly intelligent and have a friendly and outgoing temperament. They should not be suspicous of or aggressive towards people or dogs.
Head and Neck
The head size should be proportionate to body size.
It should have a finely-chiseled fox-like appearance with slight rounding to the top which gradually tapers from the widest point to the almond-shaped, obliquely set eyes.
The muzzle length should be equi-distant to that from the stop to the occipital bone at the base of the skull. The lips should be close fitting and well pigmented.
The ears should be well furred and of medium size. These should be strongly erect and set high on the skull.
The neck should be of proportionate length to the rest of the dog and should be well arched.
Forequarters
The shoulder should be well laid back, the point of shoulder being forward of the withers, never perpendicular to the ground.
The length of the upper arm should be as close as possible to the length of the shoulder blade.
The forelegs, when viewed from the front, should be moderately spaced, straight with the elbows close to the body.
The pasterns should follow the same angulation as that seen in the shoulder.
Dew claws may or may not be present.
Feet should be oval in shape, well furred with well cushioned, tough pads.
The Body
The body should be proportionate in length to the height of the dog. The ribcage should be well sprung, but never round, with slightly flattened sides to allow freedom of movement and be of adequate depth.
The topline should be level from the withers to the croup, with a slight arching over a well muscled loin and a slight tuck up. The croup should be of adequate length and slope away from the spine towards the tail.
Hindquarters
The hindlegs, when viewed from behind should be parallel and moderately spaced.
The stifle should be well bent and the hocks well defined, turning neither inwards or outwards.
The bone lengths should again be of equal length and the angles seen in the forequarters should be mirrored in the hindquarters.
The upper thigh should be well muscled and powerful.
Dew claws should not be present on the hindlegs.
Tail
The tail should be of medium length, be well furred and set on just below the level of the topline. The first 2 or 3 vertebrae in the tail should follow the angle set of the croup.
The tail may be carried in a sickle or trailing during movement.
The tail should not curl too tightly or to either side of the back.
Overly long tails may appear to be tight when carried but may be set on correctly.
Movement
Movement should be low to the ground and appear effortless.
When viewed from the side, a good reach should be seen in the forequarters matched by good drive from the hindquarters.
When viewed from the front, the forelegs should move in parallel with a gradual angling inwards towards single tracking as the speed increases.
When viewed from the rear, the hindlegs should move in parallel with a gradual angling inwards towards single tracking as the speed increases.
There should be no elbowing in or out and no cow or sickle hocks.
The topline should be firm and level during movement with no rolling or sagging.
Breed Standard of the German Spitz
General Appearance
Characteristics:
The German Spitz is intelligent, active and alert. Its buoyancy, independence and devotion to the family are the breed characteristics.
Temperament:
Happy, equable disposition, showing confidence, with no sign of nervousness or aggression.
Head and Skull:
Medium large, broad and nearly flat skull when viewed from above, and narrowing in a wedge shape to the nose. Stop moderately defined; muzzle approximately half the length of head. Cheeks clean. Flews tight, no trace of lippiness.
Nose:
Black in Black, White and Black/white parti-colours. Self colour as compatible with coat colour in other colour varieties. Never parti-colour or pink.
Eyes: Medium size, oval shaped and obliquely set. Not too wide apart. Always dark with black rims in blacks, white, black/white parti-colours, black/tan bi-colours. As dark as compatible with coat colour in other colour varieties.
Ears:
Small triangular and set rather high. Perfectly erect.
Mouth:
A perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping the lower teeth and set square to the jaws. Black lips in black, white, black/white parti-colours, black/tan bi-colours. Colour as compatible in other colour varieties.
Neck:
Clean, moderately short and well set into the shoulders.
Forequarters:
Moderately sloping shoulder, upper arm of sufficient length to ensure elbow is vertically below point of withers, turning neither in nor out. Well-boned, straight legs. Pasterns strong and flexible.
Body:
Length from point of shoulder to point of buttock equal to height at withers; short, well developed loin. Moderate tuck up. Well ribbed and rounded. Distance from brisket to ground not less than half the height from ground to withers. Topline level. Hindquarters: Moderate angulation with hocks moderately well let down. Neither cow hocked nor wide behind.
Feet:
Small, rounded cat-like with well-arched toes.
Tail:
Set high, curled right up from root, lying curled over back.
Gait/Movement:
Moving without exaggeration from any angle. Straight coming and going. Viewed from side, effortless, brisk action, retaining topline.
Coat:
Double coat consisting of soft woolly undercoat and long harsh textured perfectly straight top coat covering the whole of the body. Very abundant around neck and forequarters with a frill of profuse off-standing straight hair extending over the shoulders. Forelimbs well feathered tapering from elbows to pasterns. Hindlimbs feathered to hocks. Ears covered with soft short hair. Hair on face smooth and short. Tail profusely covered with long spreading hair. This is not a trimmed breed and evidence of trimming and shaping, other than tidying of the feet, anal area and legs below the hocks unacceptable.
Colour:
All colour varieties and markings acceptable. Butterfly pigment not permitted with any colour.
Size:
Kleins 23-29 cms (9 - 11 ½ inches) Mittels 30-38 cms (12 - 15 inches) Dogs masculine, bitches feminine.

BREED STANDARD OF THE CANAAN DOG (INTERIM)
General Appearance
Medium sized, well balanced, strong and square. Marked distinction between sexes.
Characteristics
Agile, alert and highly intelligent.
Temperament
Confident and vigilant. Aloof with strangers. Steady and loyal to owners.
Head and Skull
Skull Well proportioned, wedge shaped of medium length, appearing broader due to low set ears. Skull somewhat flattened between ears. Stop shallow but defined. Length from muzzle to stop approximately equal to length from stop to occiput. Nose black. Lips tight and well pigmented.
Eyes
Dark, almond shaped and obliquely set with black rims.
Ears
Medium sized, erect and set low with broad base and rounded tip.
Mouth
Jaws strong with a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaws, level bite acceptable.
Neck
Muscular, well arched, of medium length without throatiness.
Forequarters
Well laid muscular shoulder, elbows close to body. Medium boned. When viewed from the front forelegs straight. Pasterns slightly sloping.
Body
Square, withers well developed, back level, loins muscular, chest deep and of moderate breadth, ribs well sprung. Belly well tucked up.
Hindquarters
Powerful, broad muscular thighs, hocks well let down. Legs straight when viewed from behind.
Feet
Strong, round and cat like with hard pads.
Tail
Set high, thick brush carried curled over back when trotting or excited.
Gait/Movement
Energetic and natural trot.
Coat
Outer coat dense, harsh and straight of short to medium length. Undercoat close and profuse according to season.
Colour
Sand to red-brown, white, black, or spotted, with or without a symmetrical black mask. White markings permitted on all colours. Grey, brindle, black and tan or tricolour undesirable.
Size
Height 50-60 cms (20-24 ins). Weight 18-25 kgs (40-55 lbs).

BREED STANDARD OF THE AKITA
:Compact, short coupled and well knit with an almost square outline. Firm condition, the profuse off-standing coat not disguising any lack of substance.
General Appearance
Large, powerful, alert, with much substance and heavy bone.
Characteristic
Large, broad head, with relatively small eyes and erect ears carried forward in line with back of neck; large, curled tail, in balance with head.
Temperament
Dignified, courageous, aloof; tends to show dominance over other dogs, though the trait is not encouraged.
Head and Skull
Large, in balance with body, skull flat, forehead broad, defined stop and clear furrow. Head forms blunt triangle when viewed from above, free from wrinkle. Muzzle broad and strong, cheeks well developed. Nose large and black, bridge straight. Lips tight and black. In white dogs flesh colour pigmentation is permissible on nose and lips. Length from nose to stop is to length from stop to occiput as 2 is to 3.
Eyes
Relatively small, almond-shaped, clean, moderately set apart and dark brown. Eye rims dark and tight.
Ears
Relatively small, thick, triangular, not low set, carried forward in line with the back of the neck when viewed in profile. Moderately set apart, slightly rounded at tips.
Mouth
Jaws strong, with a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaws.
Neck
Thick and muscular, comparatively short, widening gradually toward shoulders. Pronounced crest blends with back of skull.
Forequarters
Shoulders strong and powerful, moderately laid back. Elbows very tight. Forelegs well boned and straight when viewed from front. Pasterns inclining at approximately 15 degrees.
Body
Longer than high, as 10 is to 9 in males, 11 to 9 in bitches. Chest wide and deep, depth of brisket is one-half height of dog at shoulder. Well developed forechest. Level back, firmly muscled loin, moderate tuck up. Skin pliant but not loose.
Hindquarters
Strong and muscular, with moderate angulation. Well developed thighs, strong hocks, well let down turning neither in nor out.
Feet
Thick, well-knuckled, very tight, turning neither in nor out. Pads hard. Nails hard.
Tail
Large and full, set high, carried over back, full or double curl, always dipping to or below level of back. On a three-quarter curl tail, tip dips down flank. Root large and strong. Hair coarse, straight and full with no appearance of a plume. Sickle or uncurled tail highly undesirable.
Gait/Movement
Vigorous, powerful and fluent with strides of moderate length. Back remains firm and level. Hindlegs move in line with front legs, whilst gaiting may single track.
Coat
Outer coat coarse, straight, and standing off body. Undercoat soft and dense. Coat at withers and rump is approximately 5 cms (2 ins), slightly longer than on rest of body more profuse on tail. No indication of ruff or feathering.
Colour
Any colour including white brindle or pinto. Colours are brilliant and clear. Markings are well defined with or without mask or blaze.
Size
Height at withers: dogs: 66-71 cms (26-28 ins); bitches: 61-66 cms (24-26 ins).

Temperament
Aloof, docile and faithful.
Head and Skull
Head appears as a blunt triangle when viewed from above. Broad skull, free from wrinkle, with cheeks moderately developed. Defined stop with a distinct furrow. Muzzle straight, of good depth, tapering gradually. Lips tight. Nose large and black, except in white dogs where flesh coloured nose is acceptable.
Eyes
Relatively small, almond-shaped, moderately set apart and dark brown. Eye rims dark and tight.
Ears
Relatively small, thick, triangular, slightly rounded at tips. Set moderately well apart, pricked and inclining forward.
Mouth
Jaws strong, with a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaws.
Neck
Thick and muscular, of moderate length, without dewlap. Pronounced crest blending with back of skull.

Smooth gait with strides of moderate length. Vigorous and powerful. Stilted gait undesirable.
Coat
Outer coat coarse, stand-off and straight. Slightly longer at withers and rump. More profuse on tail. Undercoat soft and dense. No indication of ruff or feathering.
Colour
Red-fawn; sesame; brindle; white. All the foregoing colours except white must have whitish coat on the cheeks, the sides of the muzzle, the inside of the legs and also the undersides of the jaw, neck, chest, body and tail (Urajiro).
Size
Height at withers: dogs 64-70cms (25 ¼-27 ½ ins); bitches 58-64 cms (22 ¾-25 ¼ ins).

Eyes
Relatively small, almond, obliquely set well apart and dark brown.
Ears
Small, triangular, pricked and inclining slightly forward.
Mouth
Jaws strong with a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, i.e. upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth and set square to the jaws.

Coat
Hard, straight outer coat with soft dense undercoat. Hair on tail slightly longer.
Colour
Red: Intense, clear red. White markings restricted to eye spots, cheeks, under jaw, forechest, underparts and underside of tail and legs. No white above elbows or hock. Red Sesame: Red with an even overlay of black guard hairs; black to be not less than 25%, or more than 50% of normal red area. White markings in Red and Red Sesame restricted to eye spots, cheeks, under jaw, forechest, underparts, and underside of tail and legs. No white above elbows or hock. The white marking on the forechest resembling the shape of a bow-tie. Colour Eye spots in Red Sesame may be tan.
Black and Tan: Dull black with a bronze cast. Tan markings restricted to eye spots, cheeks, inside of ears, legs and tail. White markings as in Red and Red Sesame. Tan markings only occur between black and white areas.
White: White coat with red or grey tinges. White undercoat.
Size
Height: dogs: 39.5 cms (151/2 ins); bitches: 36.5 cms (141/2 ins ) with allowance of 1.5 cms (3/4 in) either way.
